Our Houses

team

Our school has four Houses, and every child joins one when they start by choosing a name from the Sorting Bag. They remain in that House throughout their time with us, building a sense of belonging and teamwork. Each House is named after an inspiring individual chosen by pupils, families, and staff for their positive contributions to the world and their courage in standing up for the rights of others. These individuals are our “courageous advocates,” and each year we learn more about their lives, values, and achievements. Each House has a Lead Adult who is supported by a Captain (year 6) and a Vice Captain (Year 5). Each year the Vice Captain moves up to the position of Captain and we have fresh nominations for the new Vice Captain. You can find out more about each House and its namesake below.

malala

Yellow House - Malala Yousafzai

Malala Yousafzai is known worldwide for standing up for the right of all children, especially girls, to go to school. Even after facing danger for speaking out, she continued to fight for education and equality. Malala’s courage, determination, and belief that one voice can change the world make her an inspiring role model for our school. She shows us that standing up for what is right can help create a better future for everyone.

rosa

Green House - Rosa Parks

Rosa Parks is remembered for her brave decision to stay seated on a bus in 1955, challenging unfair laws that separated people by the colour of their skin. Her quiet but powerful protest became a turning point in the fight for civil rights in America. Rosa Parks teaches us the importance of standing firm against injustice and showing courage even when it’s difficult. She inspires us to believe that one person’s actions can spark real change.

stormzy

Red House - Stormzy

Stormzy is a talented musician who uses his success to inspire and help others. As well as his award-winning music, he has supported young people by funding university scholarships and speaking out about racism and inequality. Stormzy shows that fame can be used for good, using his voice to stand up for what’s right. His determination and generosity remind us that we can make a difference, no matter where we come from or what we do.

david

Blue House - Sir David Attenborough

Sir David Attenborough is a broadcaster and naturalist who has spent his life teaching the world about animals, nature, and our planet. Through his TV programmes, he has inspired millions to care for the environment and protect wildlife. His dedication, knowledge, and passion remind us how important it is to look after the Earth. Sir David shows us that learning and sharing knowledge can help make the world a better, more sustainable place for future generations.

Well done to the Year 5/6 netball teams.

Both teams (1 and 2), played 6 games on total and put in very good performances against some strong teams. All the girls really enjoyed the tournament and can’t wait for the next one.

Top scorers included Emily M and Alexis for team 1 and Eliza and Evie for team 2.
