St Elphin's School

As children of God we value and respect each other; we care for our world and all of God’s creation; we work together with home, our parish and our community; we encourage everybody to achieve their best and we celebrate achievement in work and in play.

Our Vision

Together, In Faith
We learn, We care, We serve, We share.

This is underpinned by our bible verse:

CHRISTIAN VALUES

Our school has adopted 3 core values which underpin all the work that we do. These are:

LOVE, COMMUNITY and SERVICE

Each half-term we also explore a different Christian Value and focus on a British Value. Our Values for this Academic Year are:

Friendship (Democracy) and Trust (Individual Liberty)

Thankfulness (Individual Liberty) and Humility (Tolerance)

Responsibility (The Rule of Law) and Creativity (Mutual Respect)

Ethos

Recognising its historic foundation, the school will preserve and develop its religious character in accordance with the principles of the Church of England and its Trust Deed and in partnership with the church at parish and diocesan level. The school aims to serve its community by providing an  education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice. It encourages an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and promotes Christian values through the experience it offers to all its pupils. As a Church School we seek to make the Christian message relevant and practical to our children, presenting it as a solid foundation for daily living not only through class lessons and acts of worship but also in our relationships with one another. Great emphasis is placed upon appreciating everyone in the school community. The result is a happy, positive and purposeful  climate in the school, with much celebration and an enthusiastic appetite for achieving our best.
