Year 5/6 Girls' Basketball Tournament

We are delighted to share the fantastic news from the recent Year 5/6 Girls' Basketball Tournament held at Cardinal High School. It was a thrilling event with five St Elphin's teams showcasing their skills and sportsmanship on the court.

All teams demonstrated exceptional teamwork and determination, making every match an exciting display of talent and effort.

We are proud to recognise the outstanding performances of our top shooters: Lottie, Isla, Millie, Bella, Emily, and Alexis. Their skillful shooting and strategic play contributed significantly to the success of their team and added to the excitement of the tournament.

A huge congratulations to all the participants for their hard work and dedication. Your commitment to excellence and teamwork is truly commendable. Well done, girls and to those who managed to win a medal.

Year 5/6 Football Tournament at Liverpool Academy - April 2024

We are thrilled to announce the outstanding performance of our school football team in the recent tournament. With determination and skill, our team showcased their talent and sportsmanship throughout the competition.

In the group stage, our team demonstrated their prowess on the field by securing impressive victories against St Andrew's (6-0), St Phillips (2-1), Barrow Hall (1-0), and Broomfields (3-0). Their exceptional teamwork and dedication were evident in every match.

Although they faced a tough challenge in the quarter-final against Christ Church and were narrowly defeated, our team did not falter. They rallied together in the play-off final, securing a commendable third-place finish by defeating High Legh.

Throughout the tournament, our players delivered remarkable performances, with goals scored by Cory, Ernesto, Lee, Marcel, Harry, Wojchech, and Jacob. Their skillful play and unwavering determination truly made us proud. Well done.

Year 5/6 Basketball Team County Finals

Well done to the Year 5/6 boys basketball team who made the school proud with their performance at the County Finals on Monday 18th March. Not only did they finish 2nd, but they also won the Spirit of the Games trophy in which the winner is chosen by the officials. This trophy goes to the team who consistently show respect, teamwork, kindness during the tournament. This is our second trophy in two years which clearly demonstrates that our Christian values are truly embedded within them. 

What a fantastic achievement!

Primary School Basketball Tournament

Well done to the Basketball ‘A’ Team who have progressed through to the County Finals on Monday 18th March. We fielded two teams, the B Team also did very well. 

The winners will be invited to play in the county finals on Monday 18th March - Another County Final’s for St Elphins this year.

Netball Tournament - Feb 2024

Well done to the Year 5/6 netball teams.

Both teams (1 and 2), played 6 games on total and put in very good performances against some strong teams. All the girls really enjoyed the tournament and can’t wait for the next one. 

Top scorers included Emily M and Alexis for team 1 and Eliza and Evie for team 2. 

Football Tournament at Crewe County Finals - Jan 2024

Well done to the year 6 team who reached the semi finals, out of 22 other schools, at the County Finals at Crewe Alexandra Soccer centre. 25th January 2024
 

Inclusive Kurling Tournament - Jan 2024

Well done to our children who won the Inclusive Indoor Kurling tournament at Cardinal Newman.

Football Tournament

Warrington Schools Football Tournament - Nov 2023

The Year 6 football team performed brilliantly in their regional competition. Out of 20 teams, they made it to the knock out stages and then progressed all the way to the Final. They will feel sad that they lost 2 - 0 to Broomfield's, but they can hold their heads up high with how well they did. 

Warrington Wolves Festival - Oct 2023

Year 3 and 4 took part in the Warrington Wolves Rugby Tournament at Victoria Park. The teams performed very well and scored some great tries. They were even lucky enough to meet Wolfie.
